2008 Seven Bridges Ice Arena Spring Skate Show

This is an amateur ice show at the Seven Bridges Ice Arena in Lisle IL that took place int he spring of 2008.  It was the first ice show that I ever photographed.  The low lighting conditions and rapid movements made it a significant challenge for my Canon 40D with 85mm F/1.8.  There was lots of great action on the ice, however I only managed to get a portion of it “on film”.  I have made some of the better pictures available in my online gallery where you can purchase prints or downloads for personal use.

Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve at Dusk

This is a high-dynamic range photo I took at the Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve in Naperville IL one spring evening.  The prairie does not always immediately present the sort of jaw-dropping in-your-face beauty of big mountain ranges or picturesque coastlines.  Over the years however, I have come to appreciate it’s subtle beauties.  I wish that I had more time to capture it’s moods.
